VOLUME 4:
January 21, 1889 -- April 7, 1889[CONTENTS]
[DESCRIPTION]
[4] University of Pennsylvania Press, Philadelphia, 1953
First edition (U.S. & U.K.). Edited by Sculley Bradley. This volume was issued with a dual imprint on the title page: "University of Pennsylvania Press" and "Oxford University Press". The designers of this volume chose to depart from the traditional typographic style of the three earlier volumes and to abandon the gold-blocked, intertwined leaves on the spine in favor of a more utilitarian library binding.[4a] Southern Illinois University Press, Carbondale, 1959
Re-issue of the original sheets from item [4], with reset title and copyright pages, and with the original 'intertwined leaf' style of binding. In order to return to the standard of having tipped-in frontispieces, Southern Illinois inset a specially printed frontispiece leaf and tipped onto it a reduced and trimmed reprint of the previously full-page size plate. The Oxford University Press imprint does not appear on the title page.

April 8, 1889 -- September 14, 1889[CONTENTS]

[DESCRIPTION]
